Organisation-wide training works best when the learning requirement is scoped around a business outcome, participant roles and the operating environment. This guide helps an organisation prepare a useful enquiry before delivery is designed.
Define the business problem #
Describe the performance gap or change you want to achieve. Examples might include stronger management practice, improved data capability, better commercial decision-making, automation readiness or more consistent customer service.
Describe the audience #
- Number of participants.
- Roles and seniority.
- Current knowledge or experience.
- Systems or tools used in the organisation.
- Any accessibility or delivery requirements that should be considered.
Choose the delivery objective #
Separate awareness, practical skill-building and implementation support. A short awareness session is not the same intervention as hands-on training with exercises and post-course application.
Use organisational examples safely #
Real examples can improve relevance, but remove unnecessary personal or confidential information. Agree in advance if proprietary data, screenshots or internal processes need to be used.
Measure application #
Before delivery, agree what improvement should be visible afterwards. Possible evidence includes completion of a practical task, improved reporting quality, adoption of a process or a manager review of applied learning.
Next step #
