Client Stories
Practical support with visible outcomes
What clients experienced:
We had three propositions that were each individually fine and collectively confusing buyers. The strategic-options work led to a 3-month repositioning that consolidated us around one core engagement type. EBITDA is up 41 percent year-on-year.
D.O., MD, B2B services firm (£4.1m turnover), Birmingham
I was 18 months from wanting to exit. They led the exit-readiness programme and the eventual sale closed at a multiple I would not have believed at kick-off.
P.M., Founder, professional-services group, London
We were about to enter an adjacent category. Their 6-week diagnostic told us not to. The £900k we would have spent on that category we deployed on doubling down on existing channels instead. Right call.
H.A., CEO, e-commerce SME, Cardiff

How It Works
A structured route from need to outcome
Here’s the process:
Step 1
Assess the Current State
We review your current setup, constraints, and priorities so business strategy consulting is scoped against the real operating context.
Step 2
Deliver the Agreed Scope
We execute the agreed work with clear milestones, practical communication, and visible progress against defined outcomes.
Step 3
Review Outcomes and Next Actions
We close with recommendations, implementation notes, and clear next steps to sustain the gains from the engagement.

Decision-Quality Promise
At month 3 of any engagement, the senior owner gets a written decision-quality review: what decisions has the engagement enabled, what hasn't moved, and what should change. If the answer is 'not enough', we re-scope at no cost or exit cleanly. We have re-scoped four times in 19 engagements.
Frequently asked questions
Why not engage McKinsey / BCG / a Big 4 strategy team?
Top-tier firms are excellent for £100m+ businesses, multi-year transformations, and category creation. We are practitioners who work shoulder-to-shoulder with £1-20m UK SMEs where decisions are made by 1-3 people and need to land within a quarter. The deliverable is what gets done, not what gets presented.
How long is a typical engagement?
Discovery and diagnostic: 6 weeks. Strategic-options work and decision: 8 weeks. Implementation support: 12-26 weeks depending on scope. Most SME clients work with us for 6-12 months on a single strategic shift, then move to a quarterly review cadence.
What kinds of strategic decisions do you support?
Pricing repositioning, market entry / exit, product or service rationalisation, M&A, exit-readiness, channel strategy, organisational design, founder-CEO succession, and capital structure. We do not support pure marketing-strategy engagements — we partner with specialists for that and stay out of the way.
How do you charge?
Standard engagements are fixed monthly retainer plus a clear deliverable schedule. We do not work on success-fee-only basis for strategy because the link between our work and the eventual outcome is too long and too contaminated by other decisions. Where we do hold success fees, it's on M&A and fundraising, where attribution is cleaner.
