A strong sponsorship or partnership enquiry explains the shared outcome, audience, contribution and evidence before discussing logos or promotional exposure. Use this checklist to prepare a proposal that can be assessed efficiently.
Define the opportunity #
- What activity, programme, event or community outcome needs support?
- Who benefits?
- What is the time period?
- What contribution is being requested: funding, venue, product, expertise, promotion or another resource?
Define the partner value #
Describe the legitimate value available to the partner, such as audience access, community impact, content, employee engagement or agreed recognition. Do not promise reach, sales or outcomes that cannot be evidenced.
Evidence pack #
- Organisation identity and contact details.
- Purpose and delivery plan.
- Budget or use of funds where relevant.
- Audience or beneficiary evidence.
- Relevant insurance, safeguarding or compliance information where applicable.
- Measurement and reporting approach.
Due diligence #
Share only information needed to assess the opportunity. Sensitive personal or financial information should use an appropriate secure route. Both parties should understand responsibilities, brand use, data handling and termination arrangements before delivery begins.
